The Name Behind Skumbuzo
Skumbuzo was never just the name of a business.
It was the name my great-grandmother lovingly called me. She lived to 112 years old and never called me Ysabelle. To her, I was always Skumbuzo.
That name has stayed with me throughout my life and became the heart of this brand.
As a child, I also spent precious years living with my grandmother. She had extraordinary hands when it came to the land. She understood plants, farming, and the rhythm of nature in a way that could never be learned from a book. Their home was rich with farms, gardens, animals, and the quiet wisdom that comes from living in harmony with the earth.
Long before i imagined creating Skumbuzo, these two remarkable women were quietly planting seeds that would shape the rest of my life.
One gave me my name.
The other showed me the beauty of nature.
Together, they planted the seeds that would one day become Skumbuzo.
Today, every ritual I create is my way of honouring their legacy.
